DESCRIPTION 

CRUSHED WHEAT is an ultra coarse whole wheat flake milled from soft white winter wheat. This product is produced by “butterflying” the wheat kernel and retaining the entire product stream including the loose endosperm. The finishedproduct has an extreme continuum of particle sizes from large pieces of bran to break flour. The product is mottled light tan and white in color.

HERITAGE BLEND is milled from soft red winter wheat and high gluten spring wheat. The flour is creamy white in color and can be used for a variety of bakery products.

 ITP FLOUR

DESCRIPTION

ITP flour is a granulated flour made from soft white wheat grown primarily in Michigan. A characteristic that sets this flour apart from other soft wheat flour is that its coarse granulation adds texture to products. This flour is creamy white with a minimum of fine bran pieces dispersed throughout the meal.

QUALITY CLEANED WHEAT DESCRIPTION

QUALITY CLEANED WHEAT is the whole berry of soft white winter wheat grown primarily in Michigan. This wheat berry undergoes an intensive cleaning process that includes aspiration, sizing, scouring and in-series metal detection. After extensive processing, this wheat meets food grade standards.

WHEAT GERM is the embryo of the wheat kernel separated during the milling process. The germ is obtained from soft white wheat. Wheat germ is an economical source of high quality protein, B-complex vitamins and trace minerals.

0.55 ASH FLOUR is milled from cleaned soft red winter wheat. 0.55 Ash Flour is milled from a combination of straight grade flour with select high ash streams. This flour can be used in a variety of breading products.

DESCRIPTION

GROUND BRAN is a high fiber bran milled from Michigan soft red winter wheat grown in Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. Because the bran coat is located on the outside of the wheat kernel, Star of the West goes through great lengths to produce this bran for human consumption. The wheat cleaning process employed in our mills far exceeds industry standards to produce a clean, sanitary product.

PATRIOT flour is milled from soft white wheat. Patriot is whole wheat (graham) flour that is ground in our milling process and sifted to a uniform granulation. Because the flour is produced from soft white winter wheat, the bran particles are lighter in color and sweeter in taste.
