Dry Bulk Delivery Driver -

Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain assigned delivery truck in a clean condition and good mechanical condition
  • Inspect tractor and trailer per DOT guidelines and enter pertinent information into log book before leaving Star of the West property.
  • Safely drive to customer address following all DOT and State Highway Department laws and regulations and report to the plant receiver.
  • Offload truck at the direction of the receiver if a bulk load or back into assigned dock and wait for forklift operator to unload van trailer.
  • Notify Star of the West of any needed repairs from the daily inspections or damage incurred during delivery.
  • Keep abreast of and comply with changing DOT regulations.

Flour Miller -

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor the entire milling system to ensure that the process is running at optimum performance and the finished product produced meets all targeted specifications
  • Measure and record the required parameters of the milling process
  • Monitor and record metal detector, magnet and sifter tailing findings
  • As designated by the Head Miller, fill in for the Head Miller in the event that he/she is absent
  • Complete assigned cleaning and maintenance activities
  • Assist in the packing operation when necessary
  • Responsible to proactively offer facility and system improvements
  • Responsible to observe and report any unusual activity regarding site security
  • Perform other duties as required

Facility Operations Supervisor -

Duties: Include, but are not limited to:

  • Shipping of bagged, tote, and bulk products to Japan, Korea, and domestic markets.
  • Containers to rail to vessel’s to destination process.
  • Packaging includes tote filling, robotic bagging, and pure bulk shipments.
  • Processing includes receiving product, conditioning product, multiple processing and cleaning steps including electric eyes, all run on a full PLC system.
  • Daily responsibilities will include employee supervision, daily processing/packaging/shipping direction, and all plant function and maintenance.
  • Additional responsibilities will include the development and function of a maintenance program for the entire facility, running food safety procedures and safety programs,  and helping to develop the expansion of the processing capabilities for the facility in the future.
  • Position will be a hand’s on type of position with expectations of crossing training all employee’s in various processes,  while being able to learn and back up many of the key functions in the facility to continue to train and develop future employee’s.
  • Maintenance capabilities, PLC function experience, and grain conditioning experience helpful.

Agronomy Sales & Equipment Operator

Duties: Include, but are not limited to:

  • Sales and service of plant food items, crop protection products, seeds, GPS and Variable Rate application services; work closely with customers to meet these needs.
  • Work with Elevator Operations to fill orders and maintain inventory.
  • Assist in other duties with the office staff at the facility to be a "team player" and help where needed in all facets of day-to-day activities.
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or 3 to 5 years related experience, preferred.
  • Custom apply plant food products, crop protection products, and operate GPS equipment to the agricultural community.
  • Other requirements are to receive, dry, clean, store, maintain quality and ship grains and beans when needed.
  • Responsible for facility and equipment; maintenance, general repair and proper cleaning of plant and equipment.
  • Operating loaders, fork trucks, and other equipment used in the receiving; mixing; pumping; blending or production and distribution of goods sold.

Elevator Operations - Seasonal/Full Time

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • To receive, dry, clean, store, maintain quality and ship a variety of commodities.
  • Ability to operate equipment involved in each process.
  • CDL Class B required. CDL Class A preferred.

McCanna, ND

Edible Bean Processor - 

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Monitoring control points and ensuring food safety and security o Pre-operational inspection of processing equipment, settings, conveyors & finished product bean ladder and recording findings o Monitoring and recording magnet findings o Final sample grading
  • Responsible for knowing current processing product specifications
  • Completing assigned cleaning and maintenance activities including but not limited to preventative maintenance as needed (ie. Lubricating equipment)
  • Assist in the bagging operation when necessary, duties may include but are not limited to: o Preparing super sacks, paper and poly bags, and pallets o Operating a bagging line o Stacking bags and pallets, up to 100 lbs, in specified configurations o Operating a forklift and stretch wrapper o Verifying at regularly scheduled intervals that package weights are accurate
  • Assist in the truck loading operation when necessary, duties may include but are not limited to: o Inspecting outbound trucks for sanitation and structural integrity, recording and documenting the inspection o Ensuring outbound trucks are properly sealed o Verifying and recording accuracy of packaging and amount of shipment
  • Assist in the receiving operation when necessary, duties may include but are not limited to: o Weigh inbound trucks and wagons at scale and obtain sample from load o Inspect sample and load before dumping into receiving pits for any food safety concerns o Segregate inbounds loads for various moistures and quality levels
  • If moisture levels exceed storable limits, beans are to be run through our dryers o Direct truck driver to the correct pit for receiving beans o Monitor the load to ensure no food safety concerns exist o Assist in monitoring the stored beans through-out the year to maintain their integrity
  • Responsibility to complete all required paperwork
  • Perform other duties as required
