Great Lakes Grain Initiative
Star of the West Milling Company has received confirmation that their grower focused grant funding has been reinstated through the USDA’s Advancing Markets for Producers (AMP) program. This reinstatement of funds follows the termination of Star’s original $4.9 million grant under the Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities (PCSC) program, which was ended after a broad USDA review of more than 140 projects.
Star of the West applauds the AMP program’s emphasis on direct producer benefits, including minimum funding requirements for farmers. With this new award in place, Star looks forward to continuing work with growers to advance market-driven, on-farm programs that support conservation-minded practices and deliver value throughout the supply chain.
When the enrollment deadline opens this spring, the first step for growers interested in participating will be to fill out the form below to begin the process. If you have any questions about enrolling, please contact Katie Adam at katie.adam@starofthewest.com.
