A research team led by Star of the West Milling Co. sustainability director, Lisa Woodke, has received a $4.9 million grant to educate and encourage beginning and women farmers on using climate-smart practices. The project, which is called “A Climate Smart Strategy for the Michigan Foodshed: Nourishing our Land, Farmers, and Rural Communities,” will be carried out over five years.
